Committed to creating safe drivers for 25 years

Gulf Coast Driving Academy was established in 1993 by Milton Foley and his wife, Kathy Foley. Milton was a retired police officer with 20 years of law enforcement experience. It was with this background that he became interested in providing the best and most conscientious training for teen drivers. His desire was for teens to take seriously the privilege of driving as their inexperience can affect many lives.

Rita Miltenberger Pitts took over as owner/operator May 2021 but has worked at Gulf Coast Driving Academy since 2002. She believes that learning to drive is crucial for both teens and adults and is a skill where experienced, trained instructors are invaluable.

All of our instructors have many years of experience and are all certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)

Our Course Offeerings

Multiple course offerings are available to train teens to seniors as well as driving instructors.

Teen Driver Education
Adult Drivers Education
We are a DPS approved Third Party Skills Test program–This means we can test teens or adults to get their driver’s license whether they took a class with us or not. The road test is given at our Lake Jackson location. We can test seven days a week and will give you the info needed and route (if you request) prior to the road test. Once you take the test with us, you will have to take the results to DPS so they can print out your license.
