Students must be at least 15 to take this class and eligible to receive a VOE from the attendance clerk at their school. The VOE will be required by DPS to get their permit so do not enroll if they are not able to get this document.
Students can get their permit after the first six hours and passing the written test.
The one week CONDENSED classroom portion will be held at the Lake Jackson location and these are scheduled for May 28-June 2 or June 24-June 29. This is five days of classroom from 9-3 and the sixth day is typically 9-11. The classroom portion will then be finished and all that will remain will be the driving lessons. Students will still have the 90 days per contract to complete the driving. Students will bring their lunch and snacks daily. This class is best suited for busy students who are able to focus, stay on task, follow expectations, and process material quickly. Students are eligible to get their permits the second day of class. It will be held in the LAKE JACKSON location only.
The TRADITIONAL classroom portion is only two hours a day for 16 days! The driving should be finished by 90 days if you took the full course with us it is included in the price. You can begin driving while attending class depending on the driving schedule.
Regardless of which type of class they take, students must place ANY device capable of access the internet up front in the classroom designated slots or in the console when driving. This includes, but is not limited to: phones, air pods, Apple watches, etc.
Our classroom and in-vehicle instructors have been professionally trained with safety as our priority. We typically drive seven days a week and you choose from the available dates and times.
There is a $50 non-refundable fee if you request a refund after the 3rd business day of receipt of payment. All cash transactions require a receipt to be issued. Depending on your financial institution, payments on-line may be processed as GCDA LLC, Gulf Coast Driving Academy, Square, or PayPal.
GCDA is an approved DPS Third Party Skills Tester so we can offer the road skills test for the actual license but it is an additional fee. The road skills test takes place at our Lake Jackson location.
The main office is 979-299-0030, Angleton is 979-848-8200. All messages left are returned as soon as possible. Angleton only answers calls when the classroom is on-going. Angleton is satellite office but will call you back IF you leave a name, phone number, and message as the drivers try to check if they have time between driving. The main office has no set office hours as we are in and out giving private lessons and road skill driver license tests. Call or text before coming by and we can tell you when we are there that day. If you have a question you can TEXT at 979-529-8816 and we can generally answer even when not physically at the office. You must contact the office you are/were attending in order to schedule or cancel driving lessons. You can email with any questions to us at the main office: gcda2021@gmail.com We can also check that when away from the office.
We take pride in providing the best and most conscientious driving instruction available.
You receive your permit after the first six hours of class when you pass the written test.
Once you have a permit and a zero balance you can drive while attending class unless you are taking the condensed class and then you drive once the classroom portion is over. Class will be over on a set date but you still have time to do the driving in case you need to practice. Your contract gives you ninety days to complete it.
You can take the road test for your license at our Lake Jackson office for an additional fee. Contact us when you’re getting close to being eligible. We are a DPS approved third party facility.
Contact us at the Angleton location at 1-(979) 848-8200 or at our main branch in Lake Jackson at 1-(979) 299-0030.
